How Gunite Works
| Gunite
refers only to the dry-mix process in which the dry cementitious
mixture is blown through a hose to the nozzle, where the water is
injected immediately prior to application. Gunite was originally a
trademark from 1909, patented in North Carolina. The concrete is
blasted by pneumatic pressure from a gun, hence "gun"-ite. |
1. Pre-mixed material
is fed into the hopper down into the u-shaped, 15" diameter
pocket feed system.
2. The feed system rotates via heavy-duty oil bath spur gear drive
as material drops into the pockets.
3. The air source propels the material through the discharge
outlet.
4. The material is conveyed by air through the hose to the nozzle,
where water is added and the material is hydrated to the desired
slump |
